HL_300-300Hello, and thanks for your interest in my work!

Professionally, I am an Interpretive Content Developer at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington. I research the various animals at the zoo, establish the look and feel of exhibits, and create content for signs and guest materials—all while considering the experience of the visitor and how to best connect to the zoo’s mission of “inspiring people to learn, care, and act.” In my spare time, I like to swim, hike, play board games, and occasionally write interesting things on my blog.

My formal training is in biology and ecology—I earned my bachelor’s at Seattle University and a master’s from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Along the way, I also acquired a Certificate in Graphic Design: Digital Illustration (because it’s just so fun and useful). In the past, I’ve helped various organizations create quality educational materials, whether it be through design, research, or writing.

If you have a project that needs an independent writer or designer with high attention to detail and a comprehensive approach, feel free to email me at my address below.
